General information on your drinking water

A new treatment plant was put in service at the end of November 2016. The new plant consists of a pre disinfection using Sodium Hypochlorite followed by a green sand filter and two ionic echange units. This should allow for the removal of Total Organic Carbon; Manganese; Color and Hardness. Treated water is disinfected with Sodium Hypochlorite and is stored in two below ground reservoirs and is distributed via three (3) pumps. A backup diesel pump ensures water to the town in case of a power failure and for fire protection.
