General information on your drinking water

The raw water comes from the St-Lawrence River and goes to a raw water well, coagulant is injected into the line feeding the membrane.The potable water plant treatment use ultra filtration process (four train). U.V. light and chlorine are use for desinfection and finally, four verticals pumps and two booster stations are installed to maintain pressure in the community.

General information on your waste water system

The wastewater is coming from 7 lift stations to a main station located near the plant. The treatment starts by an automatic screen to removed large objets. Following this step, water goes thru an aerated degriter, minerals particules are separated. At that point starts the physico-chemical treatment process. Aluminium sulfate and polymere are injected to brings the aggloremation of organic matter. This sludge will settle down in a sedimentation basin. An important part of the sludge will be transfert to a sludge rotative press and another part will be recirculated into the settling basin. The treated water is rejected to the St-Lawrence River.
